What Do You Think of ThunderCats' New Look? (VIDEO)

Those of us who grew up watching the after-school cartoons of the 1980s are very protective of them. While our parents were out clubbing to Men Without Hats or spending late-nights at coke parties on Wall Street, we were being raised by Megatron, Snake Eyes, and Lion-O.

There's a certain magic to old 'toons like Voltron, The Transformers, G.I. Joe, and ThunderCats that hasn't been replicated in the past few decades. That's not going to stop people from trying, though. Cartoon Network has just unveiled the trailer for its reboot of ThunderCats, and it looks as though the series has been updated with an anime flavor.

Whether it's because of new animation technology or something else, you'll see the shading and coloring are pretty different. Compare the new trailer to the show's original style:

Did you race home from school to watch the old ThunderCats cartoon back in the day? What do you think of the series' new look?

I mostly like the new looks, with the following exceptions: The Wily kittens are too young. They appear to be even younger than in the original, and if anything, I think they should have aged them a bit more, to maybe slightly younger than Lion-O. My only issue with Cheetara is that they seemed to have toned down her sexiness, but I suppose that's just the perv in me taking. Lastly, there's Panthro. OMG what happened to Panthro?! He looks like he's part gorilla! :(

Is Snarf going to 'snarf' less? One of the funniest things I've watched is when Butters of all characters, in South Park, asks Snarf if he wouldn't mind shutting up (Imagination Land episode). I'd rather see Dungeons and Dragons redone, but I'll check it out.

I rented the original series a few yrs ago. It was awful. I didn't get past the first disc. This new version looks much improved. I was a huge Thundercats fan when I was a small child, so I'm glad the concept is getting the update it needs.
The only thing I don't like about the version is that the cats aren't from Thundera originally.

I don't think that anything will be as good as the original but I have to say the animation looks good, the characters look sleek and cool I think this could be a good show

I'm liking this way more now that I see that it's not a just straight up re-shoot with an anime flair, actually liking the whole "after the original story" and but still kind of a re-imagining. And am I the only who who got goosebumps at the end when the theme kicked in?
