What to watch on Thursday, January 10...

8pm, CBS
The Big Bang Theory
The guys cosplay as Star Trek: The Next Generation characters and hit the road to a comic book convention in “The Bakersfield Expedition.” Back at home, Penny, Amy, and Bernadette venture into the comics shop for what’s sure to be a nuanced and enlightened consideration of gender identities within evolving subcultures, and which certainly won’t feature at least one pun on the word “rack.”

8pm, NBC
30 Rock
Jack and Devin Banks (Will Arnett) form an unholy alliance to defeat archrival Kaylie Hooper (Chloë Grace Mortez) and seize control of Kabletown in “Game Over.” Meanwhile, Academy Award-winner Octavia Spencer is the star of EGOT-winner Tracy Jordan’s latest directorial effort, and newly hitched Liz contemplates motherhood.

8pm, The CW
The 18th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards
An awards extravaganza so esteemed, it can only be presented by America’s fifth-most-popular broadcast network. The Broadcast Film Critics Association honors its favorite cinema of the year, with Lincoln’s record 13 nominations leading the pack.

9pm, NBC
The Office
It’s Dwight vs. lice in “Lice.” What do you suppose are the chances he develops an unnecessarily elaborate method of combatting the infestation, possibly one involving comically inappropriate weapons or booby traps? And in Philadelphia, Jim courts a high-profile investor: NBA legend Julius “Dr. J” Erving.

9pm, ABC
Grey’s Anatomy
Bailey puts her wedding on hold, Cristina and Owen put their divorce on hold, and Arizona and Callie try to take their romantic life off hold. Elsewhere, a group of injured bikers arrives at the hospital, which could make “Things We Said Today” the Grey’s Anatomy / Sons of Anarchy crossover America has been clamoring for.

10pm, CBS
Elementary
An old criminal adversary named “M.” has followed Sherlock from Britain to New York. Will this development lead where fans of the Holmes canon might predict, or has the show got a twist up its sleeve regarding the detective’s most notorious nemesis? Either way, Sherlock should probably postpone any vacations to Niagara Falls he may have been planning.
