What to watch on Thursday, March 7...

8pm, CBS
The Big Bang Theory
If there are three more appealing role models to extol the virtues of science to America’s youth than Leonard Hofstadter, Sheldon Cooper, and Howard Wolowitz, well, then some poor junior high girls are plum out of luck, because the guys who they’re stuck with in “The Contractual Obligation Implementation." Meanwhile, Raj prepares to take Lucy out on a date.

8pm, NBC
Thanksgiving dinner with Shirley’s family proves so off-kilter and uncomfortable that everyone begins searching desperately for the quickest way out, thus serving as an uncanny metaphor for Community’s fourth season so far. Elsewhere in “Cooperative Escapism in Familial Relations,” Jeff finally pays a visit to his estranged father (guest-star James Brolin).

9pm, CBS
Person of Interest
The Machine, perhaps passive-aggressively angling for some major alone-time, spits out six numbers at once and sends Reese and Finch to a coastal town that's bracing for a storm in “Proteus.” There, they take shelter in the police station with a group of locals—one of whom is secretly a murderer. Agatha Christie guest-stars in spirit.

9pm, AMC
Comic Book Men
“Con Men” finds the Stash crew helping a friend sell his collection through an auction, and dealing with a customer who feels a connection with a Spider-Man villain. Crackpot billionaire in a rubber mask? Steroid junkie rocking a lion’s-head stole? Tune in to find out!

9:30pm, Fox
Even the once-mighty Glee bows to the capricious whims of American Idol, pushed back a half-hour from its usual time slot by a 90-minute installment of the singing competition like a lonesome seagoing vessel hurled adrift by Poseidon’s wrath. “Girls (And Boys) On Film” shall not be denied its moment of glory, though, as the episode boasts the series’ 500th musical number when the New Directionians are tasked with singing their favorite movie tunes.

10pm, FX
“Coyote Lovely” sees Archer on the hunt for a notorious coyote. You’d think it’d be easy enough to track him down by hacking into the Acme Corporation’s customer records, but surprisingly their firewalls are much more durable than most of their merchandise.

12am, Cartoon Network
Sadee Deenus reports on an average American family in “31-Up,” which sounds like it will either be a spoof of the highly acclaimed documentary Up Series, or else some unholy confection blending a fizzy soft drink with every ice cream flavor in Baskin-Robbins’ arsenal.
