What to Watch Tonight: SYTYCD, Royal Pains, and Love in the Wild
What to watch on Wednesday, August 10.
Like the great Patrick Henry once shouted, "Give me something something, then death!" I'm not sure what he said. Who WAS Patrick Henry, anyway? Some kind of fashion designer? Anyway, hopefully there will be a show about him on the TV tonight so I can learn some valuable junk. TV is my college! Also, check these out:
So You Think You Can Dance
All good things must come to an end, but does the same hold true for GREAT things? The question is rhetorical: Yes, great things must end also. Tonight our final four dancers—a veritable Benetton rainbow of talent—will dance their final in-competition pieces, then mug furiously while Cat Deeley announces their voting numbers. Guest judges Katie Holmes and Kenny Ortega lend their weird personas to the festivities.
Matt Lauer alert! Tonight the swarthy morning show himbo appears as "Matt Lauer" when Evan books Hank for an appearance on the Today show. Also, a local magician suffers from a condition that causes all of his magic tricks to go wrong. You know who else's tricks are wrong? Yo mama's. (Yeah, I said it.)
Whoops, looks like Tommy's 9/11 documentary interview won't go over so well with the rest of the crew and a pesky lady reporter will threaten to upset the rest of Truck 62. Plus Sean decides to confront Emily over "the smell," and that is all you really need to know about this episode.
Love in the Wild
We all know that deep down these people are bummed they aren't on Bachelor Pad. So much swimming! Anyway, tonight the remaining couples will comb the sea floor for items of interest, and later will attempt to memorize a native "secret" passed on to them from a local villager. "Americans are delicious." #cannibalhumor
SEASON 1 FINALE, 10:30pm, Comedy Central
Jon Benjamin Has a Van
Let's be real: Comedy Central LOVES to cancel things. How can we expect ANY show to stay on that channel for multiple seasons, let alone a show that's as non-stop weird as this one? The sound-mix alone is one of the most unsettling comedic presences on television. But with that said, this was a good show in my opinion! Hey tune in for tonight's season finale, in which Jon takes up smoking when he reports on a pipe-smoking religious cult. Guest starring Bob Odenkirk!!
