Your guide to The Dukes on DVD
The Complete First Season
The initial season of The Dukes of Hazzard is a favorite with fans. The first five episodes were shot on location in Covington, Georgia, rather than on the Burbank, California, backlot used later on, and the Deep South atmosphere permeates every scene. Many believe that the show's writers were at their most creative during the show's early days, creating plot-heavy episodes and intelligent characters.
This three-disc, 13-episode set comes with audio commentary from John Schneider and Catherine Bach, the 20th Anniversary Hazzard County Barbecue documentary, Dukes Driving 101: A High Octane Salute, and The Dukes of Hazzard: Return of the General Lee video game preview. Order it now to see where the Dukes legend began!
The Complete Second Season
Bo, Luke, and Daisy Duke are back for more adventures in the second season of The Dukes of Hazzard. By this time, production of the show had settled into a comfortable routine--until Ben Jones (Cooter Davenport) and James Best (Sheriff Coltrane) stirred things up with a brief boycott. Interesting replacements, such as Mickey Jones (The New Christy Minstrels), Dick Sargent (Bewitched), and James Hampton (F Troop) dropped by, until Jones and Best decided to return to embrace the camp and stereotype of their characters.
This four-disc set boasts 23 great episodes, such as "The Ghost of General Lee," "Witness for the Persecution," and "Days of Shine and Roses." Extras include John Schneider and Tom Wopat's Dukes screen tests and Extreme Hazzard, a documentary gallery covering the 25th anniversary festival and featuring series stars, stunt drivers, and fans.
The Complete Third Season
Season three of The Dukes of Hazzard originally aired from September 1980 to April 1981, and it saw Rick Hurst settle into the regular role of Deputy Sheriff Cletus. Deputy Enos Strate (Sonny Shroyer) had left Dukes to star in his own ill-fated spin-off, but Luke, Bo, and Daisy continued to both fight the system and dish out laughs. This four-disc 23-episode collector's set includes the following features: "A Special Welcome" - Season Introduction by Tom Wopat, John Schneider, and Catherine Bach; "DukeVision," an on-camera commentary on episode four by cast members; "Bo, Luke & Daisy: Just Good Ole Friends - The Stars Reminisce"; and "Dukes Family Tree," with series creator Gy Waldron. Be sure to watch this DVD set, and remember to catch up on your The Dukes of Hazzard trivia before the movie hits theaters this summer!
The Complete Fourth Season (1982)
Arriving just in time for the blockbuster movie starring Jessica Simpson and Willie Nelson, The Dukes of Hazzard fourth season continues exploits of the modern-day Robin Hoods, played by John Schneider and Tom Wopat, as they try to outfox the nefarious Boss Hogg. This nine-disc, 22-episode box set includes all the down-home, fast-lane, car-crashing, good ol' boy action that you're craving.
Extras include audio commentary, a making-of documentary, and cast interviews.
