    • Cathy: (About Janis Joplin and playing her in Love, Janis) Janis had a very short career - basically, three albums. But 30 years after her death, her influence is still enormous. So I feel like it's more than a role - it's an honor and a responsibility to resurrect her each night onstage.

    • Cathy: The road to bliss is a never-ending journey. Life leads you down a road and it may not be exactly what you were expecting or hoping for. But if I can pull back and try to get a larger perspective, it always is for my higher good. It eventually reveals itself to be the best thing.

    • Cathy: (about her Grammy Nominated CD packaging for Road to Bliss) There are two shots of rainbows on the inside of the package, and I took those photos in Hawaii in February 2003. The day that I took those pictures, I said, "This time next year, we're going to be at the Grammy's".

    • Cathy: Now, I'm at a place where I accept who I am and I embrace the idea that if it's gay people who are going to be my core audience, then that's great. But I do think being gay has taught me to be more compassionate and empathetic than I was raised to be in white bread suburbia. I'm interested in what connects us, not how we're all so different. If there are homophobic people who decide not to explore my music because I share my life with a woman instead of a man, that's really sad. I've tried not to make an issue out of it so that it won't be an issue. I think it's just really important for us to accept ourselves and rise above the negativity.

    • Cathy: (On Jack's Big Music Show) This is a strange manifestation of a childhood dream come true when I would pray to God to make me tiny so I could go into the tv and hang out with the Muppets! This show is so well done, intelligent, funny, and it teaches kids about music and exposes them to different genres and artists, what's not to love? I am honored to be part of it.
