  • Greg Benford studied physics at University of Oklahoma, where he received his bachelor's degree, then followed that with his Master's at UCSD, then received his Ph.D. in physics as well. He began writing science fiction in the mid-60s, and has continued to write, incorporating his knowledge of real science into his award-winning novels and short stories.
