  • Ksenia made her theatre debut at age five, and at age 10, she landed her first guest-starring role on the popular kids' Canadian series, I Was A Sixth Grade Alien, playing alien princess Xhanthippe alongside Michael Cera. Since then, Ksenia has starred in numerous films and television shows, including the lead role of Zoey Jones in the 2003 television series Renegadepress.com. The hard-hitting drama dealt with the challenging real issues of teenage life. Ksenia's abilities were recognized at age 18, when she became the first-ever winner of two consecutive Gemini Awards for 'Best Performance In A Youth Television Series' in both 2005 and 2006.

Over the next four years, Ksenia studied acting, film directing and photography, and appeared in numerous American television shows including Cold Case, The Cleaner, Moonlight, Earth Final Conflict, Kojak, I Love Mummy and 1-800 Missing. 2009 was a busy year for the Canadian actress. After an international search, Ksenia was handpicked by Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler, Requiem for A Dream) to play the beautiful yet cruel nemesis, Veronica, to Natalie Portman's Nina in the film Black Swan. She then starred opposite John Cusack in the dark thriller, The Factory, portraying a young prostitute and mother. Following shortly after, the CW's new hit show Life UneXpected offered Ksenia the role of Natasha, the street-smart foster teen with a big heart yet troubled life. When Life Unexpected ended, Ksenia joined the cast of the sci-fi/fantasy TV show Lost Girl in the role of Kenzi, an accomlished thief with an interlect that could rival Sherlock Holmes. Kenzi has a keen eye for fashion and a fierce sense of humor and is one of the few human characters on Lost Girl which is about a race of supernatural beings known as the Light and Dark Fae. Despite Kenzi's lack of Fae powers she couragously defends and supports her best friend Bo (Anna Silk), who is an unaligned Fae Succubus and lead character of the show.moreless

    • Ksenia: (On the most challenging aspect of acting) One of the most challenging things I find is the environment that we often have to film in. It's an interesting thing when you've been working for over twelve hours in below-zero temperatures and you're wearing a miniskirt, and you have to hold yourself up underneath a car as it's moving, and then you have to get on the ground and roll on the ground and there's snow and the whole crew is in parkas and masks, you can't even see anyone's face because it's so cold. We have to just pretend it's not that cold and everything's okay. And if your lip is quivering you got to make sure that no one can see that. So I would say in my experience of Lost Girl that's definitely something that I have to overcome and brave the harsh conditions we are sometimes faced with.

    • Ksenia: (On being inspired by other actresses) I am really inspired by and love actresses who are naturally funny. Also actreses who have the ability to be equally dramatic and funny. As examples, in my head people that stand out are people like Cameron Diaz, or more recently someone like Sofia Vergara and Zooey Deschanel, these women who are hysterically funny but you believe them and it just seems to come so naturally. So that's just something that I really try to keep in mind and that's something that inspires me.

    • Ksenia: (On what she has learned about herself from being in the comedic role of Kenzi on Lost Girl) Ironically, through discovering who Kenzi is, I think I've learned in my own life that I can be pretty funny. And I don't think I ever knew that about myself. So the moment that kind of clicked in, I would say towards the end of season one, it was kind of like a cool thing to realize. I thought, "You know what? This ain't so bad." If I can pull off being funny in my own life too, if Kenzi's given me that, then that's great, and I'm so thankful for that becuase now maybe I'll try to be as fun as her in my own life.

    • Ksenia: (On her similarities with the Kenzi character on Lost Girl) I think one thing that Kenzi and I definitely both agree on is fashion. I'm a huge, huge, huge fashionista and love fashion and so does Kenzi, so that's definitely where we bond.

    • Ksenia: (On the type of roles she'd love to do) Oh, my god, there's so many! I really love action. I really love doing my own stunts. I would love to do more of that. I've done a lot of TV, but my heart is really in film. I really look forward to the film possibilities. I would love to dance in a movie again. I love all those creative aspects, like playing an instrument or dancing. I look forward to all that stuff, in future roles.
