Born December 15, 1888 this Pulitzer prize winning author, playwright, poet and founding member of "The Playwrights' Company" paved a successful career with stage, film and television productions of his work. His screenplay adaptations of other writers' work includes, "All Quiet on the Western Front", "Death Takes a Holiday" and "Joan of Arc". There was always a Maxwell Anderson play in production on Broadway from 1924 until 1958.
