  • Marion Gordon "Pat" Robertson was born on March 22, 1930. He was the son to A. Willis and Gladys Churchill Robertson. Pat's father served for 34 years in the United States House of Representatives and Senate. It is reported that Benjamin Harrison, and two United States presidents; William Henry Harrison and Benjamin Harrison are related to Mr. Robertson. Robertson also shares a relation with the famous Winston Churchill as well. Pat Robertson graduated with honors from the military prep school, The McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He later entered Washington and Lee University in 1946. Pat Robertson also served in the military. He was the assistant adjutant of the First Marine Division in combat in Korea. He returned to the U.S. and continued his academics at Yale University Law School in 1955. He earned his master of divinity degree in 1959 from the New York Theological Seminary. Between 1946 and 1959, Pat got married to Dede. They now have three children. After moving to Tidewater, Virginia Pat Robertson made a decision to purchase a bankrupt UHF television station in Portsmouth. He had only seventy dollars in his pocket, but he managed to raise the finances to purchase the station. The new Christian Television Station; CBN was formed January 11, 1960. It went on the air October 1, 1961 for the very first time. Presently, CBN can be seen in 200 countries and can be heard in 70 languages including Arabic, Spanish, Russian, Chinese and French. The 700 Club, is one of the longest running religious television shows and reaches over one million viewers daily. Pat Robertson is also an author with at least 17 books to his credit.moreless
