  • Biography
  • Sallie Merlin, daughter of Milton & Barbara Merlin, winners of Peabody Award, lived on Overland in West L.A. Which was the avenue connecting Twentieth Century Fox & Metro Goldwyn Mayer. Appeared in at least two My Three Sons Episodeswhich was filmed at Desilu Studios in the early 1960's. A talented young actress who earned the nickname "Apple Annie" for being able to complete all of her scenes in one take... a novelty in the motion picture industry. Her father was producer of The Millionaire, a TV series of the mid 50's whose premise was that a multi-millionaire named John Baresfoote Tipton would award $1,000,000.00 to a deserving recipient with the proviso that the recipient was never to disclose either the source or the amount of the gift under penalty of losing the award should this condition be violated. Milton & Barbara Merlin were co-writers of the Ronald Coleman TV and radio show Halls of Ivy for which they earned their well deserved Peabody Award. In later years, the writing team were responsible for several episodes of Bonanza, The Rifleman, The Fugitive, I Spy, and virtually every worthwhile TV series of the 60's and early 70's. Milton Merkin, a native of Northern California and alumni of Berkley was noted as one of the true intellects of the motion picture industry... an incredibly gifted writer, and what was referred to as a truly Kind Soul. He wrote his first novel at age 83 and continued his working career until 1996, dying just a few months before his dedicated wife and cowriter Barbara... And oddly enough close friend Morey Amsterdam! #30 DRmoreless
