  • Trivia & Quotes
  • Quotes (5)

    • Audrey: Bill! I just talked to my father. He said that Jack was being handed over to the Chinese government? Bill: He was supposed to be. But he, uh...tried to escape. Audrey: I...I don't understand. Bill: (shaking his head) Neither do I. Audrey: (realizing) No... Bill: Audrey... Audrey: No, don't say it. No! (starts walking away) Bill: (calling out, softly) I'm sorry. (leans against the wall for support; she drops the file folder she is holding, scattering papers everywhere and cries)

    • (after Tony resuscitates Jack) Tony: Hey...hey, can you hear me? Do you know where you are? Jack: (groaning) Yeah...

    • Palmer: Hear no evil. Logan: I beg your pardon? Palmer: You heard me.

    • Jack: Audrey, I love you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. That's all I want. Audrey: We both know that you belong here, Jack. At CTU. Doing what you do best and thank god that there are people like you that can deal with that world. (pauses) But I can't. Jack: Please don't say that. Audrey: Jack. Oh, Jack. I love you, but after today, it's just... it won't work. (she kisses him) I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

    • Palmer: This is probably the last time we’ll ever speak. Jack, you do understand when you hang up, for all intents and purposes, Jack Bauer is dead. Jack: I understand that, sir. Mr. President, it’s been an honor. Palmer: Same for me, my friend.

    Notes (4)

    • This episode won the 2005 Emmy for Outstanding Single-Camera Sound Mixing For A Series.

    • This is the only season to not make use of the silent clock.

    • As of this episode, there are four people (excluding Jack himself) who know Jack is still alive: Tony Almeida, Michelle Dessler, Chloe O'Brien and David Palmer.

    • The finale was followed by a short preview that contained a montage of scene clips from the first four seasons. The announcer said: "On the first day, he saved the President. On the second day, a city. On the third day, a nation. And on the fourth day, the world. But if you think you know what's coming next, you don't know Jack. 24 A new day begins next January, on Fox." This was the first such preview to air after a season finale.

    Trivia (7)

    • In the previous five episodes Palmer had no markings at all on his hand, now all of a sudden he has a red mark right where the scaring was in the previous season.

    • Just after the telecom from the Chinese Consulate, there is a brief view of a TV with a FOX News Alert stating "Air Force One Crashes in Desert."

    • When Marwan lets go of Jack and falls to his death, he falls backwards, but when the camera angles on a view of his body, he is lying flat on his face.

    • Near the end, you can see where they've stuck tape on the road to mark where Carlos Bernard should stop the car in front of the camera.

    • During that commercial at the end of the episode, the first line is "on the first day, he saved the President." But he didn't. The first season was about how Jack was assigned to protect Senator Palmer. He wasn't elected President until the second season (a year later).
