  • show Description
  • Dealing with life in a studio at NBC's 30 Rockefeller Plaza (the title is a shortening of that), the show centers around Liz Lemon, played by Saturday Night Live's Tina Fey, who's the head writer of The Girlie Show. When her old boss dies and a new boss comes in (Alec Baldwin as Jack Donaghy), demanding the addition of a volatile former movie star (and re-branding the show TGS with Tracy Jordan in the process), Liz must figure out how to keep things running smoothly without losing her mind. Jane Krakowski plays Liz's friend Jenna Maroney, the former headlining star who's all too aware her time to rely on her look is running out. Tracy Morgan plays Tracy Jordan, and out-of-control comedy star whose movie career vanished. Scott Adsit plays producer (and Liz's confidant) Pete Hornberger. Judah Freidlander is writer Frank Rossitano, a slovenly man who's into porn and comic books. Jack McBrayer plays NBC page Kenneth Parcell, a naive Georgia man who seems to always let NYC get the best of him. The series won 16 Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series - Elaine Stritch - Hiatus, Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series - Tim Conway - Subway Hero, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series - Alec Baldwin, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series - Tina Fey, Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series - Cooter, Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series - Reunion, Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series, Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series (half-hour) And Animation - Episode 210, Outstanding Picture Editing for a Comedy Series (Single or Multi-Camera) - Apollo, Apollo, Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series, Outstanding Writing For A Comedy Series - Last Lunch and Outstanding Casting For A Comedy Series.moreless

    • Tracy: I'll have an apple juice. Waiter: Oh, we don't have apple juice, sir. Tracy: Then I'll have a vodka and tonic.

    • Toofer: Surely, our massive conglomerate parent company could spring for a samovar of coffee. Frank: Yeah, or, like, a big coffee dispenser. Toofer: (annoyed) That's what a samovar is. Frank: Are there other black nerds, or is it just you and Urkel?

    • Jenna: Who's everybody? Jack: The network that wanted to fire you, the focus groups that said you had a weird eye. Jenna: You mean this eye?!. Okay, this eye—it doesn't open all the way because when I was little my sister peed in it!

    • Tracy: You know how pissed off I was when US Weekly said that I was on crack? That's racist! I'm not on crack; I'm straight-up mentally ill!

    • Liz: I'm not like these girls, Tracy. I don't have sex for money! Stripper: Neither do we! Tracy: Neither do they! (mouthing silently to Liz) Yes, they do!

You come a long way, haven't you, Kenneth Ellen, with your cheap loafers and your page jacket. But you'll always be a pig farmer's son, boy, cuz I smell fried baloney all over you. Jack's speech is a parody of Anthony Hopkins' monologue as serial killer Hannibal Lecter in the 1991 film Silence of the Lambs, in which Lecter coldly dissects the humble beginnings of Clarice Starling (played by Jodie Foster).
