    Trivia (1)

    • Would Eric and Annie really allow 8 year old Ruthie to talk to the reporter without at least one of them being present. Would he be allowed to interview her un-chaperoned anyway?

    Allusions (5)

    • George Orfield: I have a dream...

John Hamilton is watching television and is upset when politician candidate George Orfield misquotes Martin Luther King, Jr. in one of his speeches. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a famous revoluntionist.

    • Ruthie: Who's Monica?

Ruthie is asking Simon who is Monica Lewinsky, after just having a conversation with Mary and Lucy on how much their parents missed out on the White House scandal with former President Clinton.

    • John Hamilton: You don't see a black candidate quoting Dr. Seuss.

John is explaining to Matt of how wrong it is for politicians to quote other people's work in their speeches for an election. He gives an example by using Dr. Seuss. Dr. Seuss is a famous children's author who wrote books like "Green Eggs and Ham."

    • John Hamilton: Do either of you know who Harriet Tubman is?

John Hamilton is asking two politicians who Harriet Tubman is, since they keep misquoting her in their speeches for an election. It seems that someone behind the scenes of their campaign writes their speeches by stealing quotes from past authors and politicians (ex. Harriet Tubman).
