  • Episode Description
  • Miss Marple is visiting an old school friend, Lady Camilla Tressilian, along with an eclectic group: tennis star Nevile Strange and his wife Kay, his former wife Audrey and her childhood friend and cousin Thomas Royde, Ted Latimer, who is something of a gigolo and very attracted to Kay Strange, and finally Freddie Treves, a retired solicitor. When Treves is found dead the day after a dinner party at Lady Tressilian's home and Lady Tressilian herself is found bludgeoned to death a short time later, Miss Marple must sort through the complex set of relationships among all of the players and must determine what role a tale of a child's crime may have had to play in the deaths.moreless

  • Notes (4)

    • This episode is adapted from the novel, Towards Zero (1944).

    • Agatha Christie's book, Towards Zero, is not a Miss Marple mystery. She doesn't appear in the book at all.

    • In 1995, a film company was going to turn Towards Zero into a film and included such issues as incest. Rosalind Hicks, Agatha Christie's daughter, reviewed the script and ordered that the name of the film be changed as well as the names of the characters. The film became Innocent Lies and was met with mediocre success.

    • Murders
Frederick Treves - Induced heart attack
Lady Camilla Tressilian - Blow to the head

    Trivia (1)

    • Mr. Treves in the novel does not have a first name. In the program Towards Zero he's given the first name Frederick.
