    • Peter (on finding the bug in his phone): Are you completely emotionally damaged?

    • Leo: That girl is pathological. Angela: Mm-hmm, which puts her in group three. Leo: What the hell is that, your latest theory? Angela: Okay, healthy people for the most part tell the truth. When they lie it's usually for socially acceptable reasons, to spare someone's feelings or avoid embarrassment. That's group one. Leo: Okay, what's number two? Angela: That would be your garden variety liars. They're the type that embellish accomplishments, cheat on their spouses, stab colleagues in the back to climb the corporate ladder. See, those two groups, it's easy to see when they're being deceitful, but Julie's in the third group, the pathological ones. They lie so much, about so many different things, that reality simply disappears, and then everything that they say is the truth. Leo But also a lie.

    • (about the suspect, Andy Phillips) Angela: So, did P.D. ask him if he was having an affair? Leo: Quote, "I have never cheated on my wife", end quote. Angela: Looks like Andy's nose is growing.

    • Angela: See, good liars, they lead you down a road, carefully planting various signs, until you're in exactly the place that they want you. Then, they can tell you anything that they want, and you'll believe it. Dozer: I don't understand, are you saying the guy's a liar or not? Angela: I'm saying that he's telling the truth, but -- that doesn't mean that he's not a liar. Leo: All right, so let me get this straight, he's not not telling the truth, and we're not not skeptical that he's not not the killer. Angela: Something like that.

    • Peter Wagner: (to Angela) You have this thing about liars, Angela, and yet you lie more than anyone I know.

    • Angela: So the Patriot Act says that I can walk into any Mosque, but the Mayor is keeping me out of a church.

    • Angela: They're pros. Leo: Kinda like Butch and Sundance. Dozer: I loved that movie.

    • Angela: What did Brad do to piss you off? Tap the pharmaceutical truck on his own and keep the money for himself? Ed: He brought drugs into our school, infected our children! Angela: So drugs... are bad, but armed robbery and grand larceny are good?

    • Where did Tim Jones get the gun? He's got severe brain damage, so it seems doubtful he would be able to get one on his own.

    Allusions (9)

    • Angela: Looks like Andy's nose is growing. This is an allusion to the famous children's story Pinocchio, about a toy maker who makes a puppet that comes to life. His nose grew every time he lied.

    • Leo: Kinda like Butch and Sundance. This alludes to two famous thieves, Butch and Sundance, from the acclaimed 1969 movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, directed by George Roy Hill, and starring Paul Newman as Butch and Robert Redford as Sundance. Leo: I guess I was wrong, it's not Butch and Sundance, it's Bonnie and Clyde. This alludes to another famous pair of thieves, from the 1967 movie Bonnie and Clyde directed by Arthur Penn, and starring Warren Beatty as Clyde and Faye Dunaway as Bonnie.

    • Angela: Which leads me to our "mean girls". This is a reference to the 2004 Mark Waters' film, Mean Girls, starring Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams.

    • Angela: What do you know about Leviprac and Zomeptal? These appear to be fictitious drugs. They are not part of the United States Pharmacopoeia (USP), or readily found in the Canadian pharmacy databases.

    • "Drinking the Kool-Aid" may be a reference to the Jonestown massacre in Guyana where the followers of the Rev. Jim Jones committed suicide by drinking poisoned Kool-Aid.

    • Song: Lyin' Eyes The episode title may be taken from the Eagles' song, which is from their 1975 album, "One of these Nights".

    • Movie: Eyes Wide Shut The title shares it's name with the 1999 film by Stanley Kubrick, that starred Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise. The phrase is used to show not only is someone hiding their head in the sand, but they are doing so with a full understanding of what they are refusing to acknowledge and the consequences of doing so.

    • Song: In Your Eyes The episode shares its title with the song by Peter Gabriel, found on his 1986 album, "So"
