Good look at a part of China not normally seen by Westerners. Be sure to dress warmly because just watching makes you cold!

I enjoyed this episode and seeing a part of China most westerners probably will not venture to. Bourdain does a great job of finding interesting characters to populate his show and makes a regular attempt to eat like a local. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't (like the ice fishing scene), but he always seems to make the best out of it or find the humor, albeit sarcastic humor, in his mis-adventures. Watching makes you want to turn up the heat in your living room, as any outdoor shot looks absolutely frigid. His adventures culminate in the last scene, dining with his cast of characters and ruminating about life and food.moreless
