No Acting Please: When Fern and Muffy decide to audition for a play, they bring Fern along for moral support. Fern reluctantly ends up auditioning as well and lands the part. She's called a natural by the play's director, but begins to lose her focus when she takes tips on "method acting" from Muffy. Prunella Deegan and the Disappointing Ending: The final installment of the popular Henry Skreever book series finally arrive and Prunella and Marina make a pact to read it in tandem, not getting ahead of each other. When they each break their vow and skip ahead, it leads to a fight. The two start competing with each other, but end up skim-reading in their attempts to one-up the other.moreless

No Acting, Please was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program -Philip Seymour Hoffman.
In "No Acting, Please", Fern said all she ever played was a tree in the Arbor Day Extravaganza. However, she did appear in school plays in "Francine Frensky, Superstar" and "Elwood City Turns 100". Of course, those were school plays. Not really independent productions.
The book character, Henry Skreever is a spoof of the popular book character, Harry Potter.
