  • Ascot and Hopetown Classics from Monterey Home Video features historic footage from the dawn of motocross racing in the United States. In the earliest beginnings of American motocross racing, Bruce Brown, acclaimed sports documentarian, traned his eye on the growing sport. He traveled to California to film off-road motorcycle races at the legendary Ascot Park raceway and Bob Hope's Hopetown ranch. At the time, American riders led by Torsten Hallman were challenging the European dominance of the sport. Other legendary racers featured in the footage are Skip Van Leeuwen - four time champion and Motorcycle Hall of Famer - and Mert Lawwill. Bruce Brown's historic footage was taken from the Brown family vault and assembled by Bruce's grandson Wes Brown and his partner, T.J. Barrack, into a documentary that showcases the birth of motocross. The video is a blend of championship motocross racing, remarkable racing talent, Bruce's understated humor and new interviews.moreless
