  • show Description
  • Augie Doggie and Doggie Daddy was originally on the "Quickdraw McGraw" show. Augie, the son of Doggie Daddy, was the intelligent one of the pair. He would always look up to his 'Dear Old Dad' for guidance in all sorts of different predicaments. The series follows the pair as they go on all sorts of adventures, like camping and winding up in outer space, or doing yard work and winding up tending to the health of a mob of crows.moreless

    • Doggie Daddy: But-but Augie my son, my son. I know I promised. I know I promised to teach you to be a bird dog, but you've got a cold. Augie: (sneezes) But father, dear. You promised, you promised, you promised, you promised! Doggie Daddy: But, my favorite son, you won't be able to sniff a trail with a cold in your nose.

    • (The woodpecker walks toward a piano in the living room...) Woodpecker: My, what a beautiful piano! And it's made of wood, too... (arches eyebrows at camera, then strikes melodramatic pose) No, I won't do it! I will FIGHT IT! I'll be strong! I WILL NOT DO IT!! (slight pause, then smiles) Lucky me... I lost! (he devours the entire piano)

    • (After the woodpecker chops the ladder into nothing, Doggie Daddy is "standing" in mid-air, realizing his mistake... ) Doggie Daddy: Uh-oh! That was a WOODEN ladder!!! (He falls to ground and crashes)

    • (The woodpecker sees what Doggie Daddy is using to climb the tree he's on... ) Woodpecker: (to audience) A wooden ladder? Boy, this guy is ASKING for it!

    • As to question, we still don't know who Augie's mother really is that abandoned him and left him with Doggie Daddy.

    • This was the pilot of the episode that was never seen.

    • The Snagglepuss character that appears in this episode is not pink and does not have a tie, collar and cuffs. Those changes were applied when Snagglepuss got his own series in 1959.

    • This is the second cartoon series for the Snagglepuss character to appear in after Quick Draw McGraw.

    • This is the final episode of the series.

    Trivia (5)

    • Orville (man in the blue suit) speaks with Tom's (man in the light brown suit) voice at one point.

    • Yogi Bear made a special appearance in this episode.

    • When the bag with the bowling ball is first shown, the zipper only goes down one side but when the mouse pulls the string, it goes across the bag from one end to the other.

    • Doggie Daddy's cowboy hat is much smaller in one scene than what it should be.
