Wojo: Barn. I got a confession to make.
Barney: What's that?
Wojo: I got sick on the plane.
Barney: Oh listen, that happens to everybody. I myself have used those little bags many times.
Wojo: What little bags?
Mrs. Clooney: I could've given him kids. I've got a great body for kids. I'm built like my mother. She had four boys, three daughters and ONE HUSBAND!
Mr. Clooney: Personally, I like to sit just behind the wing.
Wojo: Nobody asked your opinion.
Fish: People with two wives don't have opinions. They just nod a lot.
Wojo: Barn, do you think they'd mind if I drove to Cleveland?
Barney: Why would you want to do a thing like that? You could fly there in an hour.
Wojo: I just want to look at the countryside.
Barney: Take my word for it: It looks better from up there.
Wojo: Only... It's so high.
Barney: Well, you got to go up in the air. Otherwise you hit the tree, the buildings...
Wojo: Barn, I don't like to fly. I mean, it's like I'm afriad or anything like that.
Barney: No. Of course not.
Wojo: I mean even little kids fly nowadays.
Barney: Oh sure. Nothing bothers them.
Wojo: Oh, it bothers some of them. And the rest of them... I guess they're too dumb to know the difference.
Mr. Woolen: (on the $3,500 he found) Obviously, someone lost it, so I'd like to turn it in. Fish: Anybody see you pick it up? Mr. Woolen: I don't think so. Harris: Does anybody else know you found this money? Mr. Woolen: No. Fish: (looking in packet) There's nothing else in here. No identification. No name. Mr. Woolen: I realize that. Harris: You know, Mr. Woolen, if you ever decide to run for President, you've got my vote.
This is the first of Charles Murphy's appearances as Mr. Woolen. Havingturned ina small fortune he found on the street, he is told that is the money is unclaimed in four weeks he can have it. He will next appear four episodes from this (four weeks broadcast time) to claim the money in "The Kid".
This is the first of Jack Riley's two, unrelated appearances on Barney Miller. He can also be seen in season five's "The Counterfeiter."
Fear of Flying
Aside from being used as the title of this episode, Harris gifts Wojo with the book of the same title to read on the plane. Fear of Flying is a 1973 novel by Erica Jong. Infamous for its frank sexuality, the novel tells the story of a married poet who decides to indulge her sexual fantasies with another man in Vienna.
