    • Barney: (after his blow up) Listen everyone... I'd like to apologize to everybody. I'm the one who's always saying "keep things in perspective" and...
Harris: Hey forget it, Barney. We were all depressed tonight.
Fish: You're just the first person to put it into screams.

    • Barney: (after seeing Yemana use a coffee carafe to catch the rain water leaking from the roof) You're going to use that water?
Yemana: It's rain water. The best kind there is. Some people wash their hair in it.
Barney: It's just come through the ceiling. That moldy, termite infested ceiling.
Yemana: That filters out the impurities.

    • Wojo: The only place in the whole building without running water is the bathroom.

    • Yemana: You want good coffee? Get married. Harris: It's tasting better.

    • Fish: No, ma'am. I don't think the Hudson will overflow its banks. Would you leave a nice soft bed to flow through a cold, dirty city like New York?

    Notes (2)

    • This is the first of Phil Leeds' seven, unrelated appearances on Barney Miller. He can also be seen in season three's "Group Home," season four's "Atomic Bomb," season five's "The Indian," season six's "The Photographer," season seven's "The Delegate," and season eight's "Stress Analyzer."

    • Guest star Stanley Brock would later reappear as sporting goods store owner Bruno Bender, in a recurring role.

    Trivia (1)

    • Beckman mentions a big scandal when the building "was finished in '32." The assumption is 1932, which, of course, does not follow the revelation in the series finalĂ© of the building being in existence during Teddy Roosevelt's campaign for President in the early 1900s. This also contradicts Fish's statement in "Heat Wave" about the window being bolted down in '32..."the year it was CONDEMNED!"
