  • Quotes (2)

    • Penguin: I demand a recount!
Batman: Don't worry. You'll have another chance soon. The Convict Committee for Clean Prison Government is having an election next week. You should arrive just in time to run for chairman.
Robin: And if you need any endorsements, uh, just let us know.

    • Robin: (after Batman survives the acid deathtrap) Batman, are you all right?
Batman: Yes, thanks to Alfred. Lucky he insisted on making these new costumes out of acid-proof material.

    Notes (3)

    • Madge Blake is credited but doesn't appear.

    • Allen Ludden, at the time of his appearance, was the host of Password which aired from 1961-67 and later on Password Plus which ran from 1979 to 1982.

    • The idea of The Penguin's running for mayor would later be reused in the 1992 Batman Returns starring Michael Keaton, Michelle Pfeiffer & Danny DeVito.

    Trivia (2)

    • Batman says he isn't sure that the goons that attacked the convention hall are working with Penguin, and wonders how Penguin defeated them. However, the goons are wearing the same black shirts with GOON printed on them that the Grand Order of Occidental Nighthawks wore in the previous episode when they lured Batman into a trap, and then met with Penguin.

    • At the end of the episode, Batman receives two phone calls in Commissioner Gordon's office. The first call offers Batman the 1968 presidential nomination for one of the two major political parties in the United States. Batman declines. The second call also offers the 1968 presidential nomination to Batman who responds that he thought that this party already had a candidate. Two years before the election, the show correctly predicted that President Johnson would not run for re-election in 1968.
