  • Trivia & Quotes
  • Quotes (4)

    • Batman: Stop! Surrender! Give yourself up. Or by all that's holy, I might forget myself and do you violence!

    • Gordon: I feel as if I've awakened in some future age! Such equipment! What fantastic ingenuity you and the Boy Wonder have employed in hooking it together.
Batman: True. We did muster many long hours of brainpower. However, this is no time for self congratulation.

    • Pauline: Where am I?
Batman: Deep in the entrails of the earth, Pauline, where every instrument has been designed to combat crime and snare its perpetrators.
Gordon: There are those who came to this Batcave and never left.
      Batman: That is true.

    • Robin: Holy molars! Am I ever gonna take good care of my teeth! Batman: True. You owe your life to dental hygiene!

    Notes (5)

    • This is the second time this season Aunt Harriet Cooper celebrates her birthday. The first was in "Batman Stands Pat".

    • The ledge used here as part of The Chessman Building will be reused as part of Police Headquarters in the Season 2 episode called "Tut's Case is Shut".

    • Batman makes reference to The Batcopter in this episode. The Batcopter will appear for the first time in the 1966 Batman movie.

    • Watch for Commissioner Gordon in The Batcave once more in a Season 3 episode called "The Wail of the Siren".

    • The Riddler debuted in Detective Comics #140 (October 1948) and became perpetually forgotten in the Batman comic book realm until Frank Gorshin's over-the-top, Emmy-nominated portrayal of The Prince Of Puzzlers, virtually made him a star overnight on the Batman TV series, as he made the most appearances of any Batvillain in its first season: 8.

    Allusions (1)

    • When Robin is on the building's edge, the announcer mentions Harold Lloyd. Silent comedian, Harold Lloyd's most famous movie was the 1923 Safety Last in which Lloyd clutches the bending clock hands on the side of a building as he dangles from the outside of a skyscraper above moving traffic.
