  • Trivia & Quotes
  • Quotes (4)

    • Kara: (about Garner) So, barely competent and paranoid. Huh. There's a hell of a combination.

    • Kara: All I have done since I got to The Beast is try to help and all I've gotten is Garner's foot in my ass. Lee: Well maybe you need a kick in the ass!

    • Adama: In your opinion, off the record, what was Garner's flaw? Lee: He was used to working with machines. Command is about people. Adama: Remember that...

    • Adama: (to Roslin) I'm just remembering what you said, right after the Cylon attack... that if we really want to save the human race, we'd better start having babies.

    Notes (1)

    • Despite appearing in the opening credits, Grace Park does not appear in this episode.

    Trivia (5)

    • First time we see a Battlestar use forward cannons. In the past, we have only seen them fight using cannons/turrets on its sides.

    • The total number of survivors decreased over the course of the episode from 49,584 to 49,579.

    • As of the beginning of this episode, there are 49,584 survivors in the fleet, six fewer than at the beginning of the previous episode.

    • We learn that the Galactica and Pegasus crewmen have nicknamed Pegasus as 'The Beast' and Galactica as 'The Bucket'.

    • Lee Adama is promoted from Major to Commander in this episode, and given command of the Pegasus.

    Allusions (2)

    • Pound of Flesh Roslin's reply to the Gemenon delegate is a reference to the debt owed Shylock by Antonio in William Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice (Act IV, Scene i, lines 99-100). The phrase has come to mean a debt that a creditor insists on collecting regardless of how much suffering it might cause the debtor. However, as Ronald Moore noted in his podcast, it's unlikely that Roslin has read much of the Bard.

    • The music playing toward the end when Apollo received his new promotion was the same music played in "Hand of God" when Apollo returned to Galactica after his successful attack on the Cylon Refinery Base.
