Not a good effort
One of my least favorite episodes to say the very least. Brandon skating around, and gets noticed by a fictional tv show called "Keep It Together". Then one thing leads to another and they're talking about keeping him on there full time. Meanwhile Brenda is jealous, and to make matters worse for her, Brandon needs someone to fill in for him at the Peach Pit. She does, and at first is a disaster. Then she comes in as "Laverne" and rakes in a bunch of tips and wins over the clientele. The lead on Keep it Together is a chick named Lidia Leeds, who does play a very good snobby celebrity. She clearly uses Brandon to get the other star of the show, Shawn Judson, to re-sign. There was a funny reference on there to some actress in a club where Lidia says the only reason she has a job is because her uncle is a big time producer. Supposedly that was a shot at Tori Spelling. Anyway, Brandon gets completely burnt, and his scene on the show gets cut. Brandon and Brenda carry the episode, but for me there is really no redeeming value to it, other than some future references to Brenda's portrayal of Laverne. MVC: Brandon (11) and Brenda (9)moreless
Brandon is rollerblading in the park while the television show Keep It Together is filming an episode. The producers seek him out as an emergency replacement for one of the extras. He hits it off with the star, Lydia Leeds, and is considered for a recurring role. However, Lydia is only using him to make her leading man/boyfriend jealous so that he will end his holdout. Brenda fills in for Brandon at the Peach Pit. She is in over her head until she adopts the persona of Laverne, a sassy, gum-chomping waitress. She quickly charms all of the customers with her wisecracks and lip-synch routines.moreless
Brandon sets off to be a tv star, while Brenda tries (unfortunatelly at first)to fill his shoes in The peach Pit
One of Brendas\\\' finest episodes. i think the writers might have started to think from this moment on how to develop her character, being an actress i mean, as she impersonated greatly a 50\\\'s waitress. And by the way, she mentioned twice the phrase \\\"charmed i\\\'m sure\\\", which later on is the title of the other Spelling show she starred in, \\\"Charmed\\\".
