    • Anthony: I give him one season.

    • Anthony: That's where the cooks are. Any chimpanzee could grill a sirloin. Where's artistry in that? Where's the cooking in that? It takes some trial and error and some time to make something as beautiful as this.

    • Anthony: (yelling at Andrew): Hey, TV Guy! More cook, less talk!

    • Andrew: What's next for me? Grilled guinea pig in Ecuador? Whelks in Wales? Who knows, but you know what I say, if it looks good, eat it!

    • Andrew: Oh, my god, it has a picture of my mother-in-law on the label! (about Mother-in-Law Mustard)

    • This episode was aired in conjunction with Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations. The two programs were aired back to back (in their regular time slots), but were advertised under the title Zimmern & Bourdain: New York.

    Trivia (3)

    • Whelks, mentioned in Andrew's sign-off, are large sea snails often eaten in the British Isles.

    • Andrew remarks that the Jewel Dako gets its fresh seafood directly from the Tsukiji Market in Tokyo, Japan. Andrew had visited the Tsukiji Market when he visited Japan.

    • Andrew tries durian (a fruit), but he is unable to eat it. This is the second time we've seen him attempt to eat durian. He was also unable to enjoy it in the pilot episode. Although this time, he's at least able to swallow his first bite (he spits out his second bite--the same reaction he had in the pilot).
