  • Angela Santomero is credited as Angela C. Santomero.

  • From visitor votes on TV Tome, "Snack Time," the premiere episode, is overall the second least-liked of the series.

  • One of the clues in this episode has three pawprints on it and another two, but in future episodes, only a single pawprint will be used for each clue, as a general rule.

  • Premiere episode. The fact that it's the premiere goes largely unacknowledged, although there are some minor references to it. First appearances of Steve, Blue, Side Table Drawer, Mailbox, Mrs. Pepper and Mr. Salt. Yuval Kossovsky is the editor for this episode, but L. Mark SorrĂ© will edit most of the rest of the first season.

  • Mailtime Segment: A group of kids enjoys a snack. Steve introduces them by their names, but in future episodes he will simply say, "it's a letter from our friends."

  • At one point where Steve says the wrong answer, the pillow and blanket forms as a snail.

  • In most episodes of Blue's Clues, you can find a total of three small hidden snails.

  • Blue's Clues is aired in 120 countries and has been dubbed in 15 languages!

  • There is an error in every single episode. Right after Steve grabs the notebook, Steve and Blue sing a song where Blue pulls out the notebook Steve has in his pocket.

  • Steve suggested to read "A Puppy's Day," a book which he read in another episode, "What Time is It for Blue."

  • When this episode is shown on Noggin, the Noggin logo at the bottom of the screen entirely blocks out the pawprint on the second clue until the camera angle changes to focus in on it.

  • Blue finished up her bath and dried off pretty quickly to go appear with Steve during the "So Long Song" and wave goodbye at the window.

  • The set of paintings with Magenta painting the barn is in the right order when Steve approaches, but in the wrong order in the close view. (Special thanks to "The Ways of the Blue Dog" for the info.)

  • Steve: We're in the jungle...the mighty jungle...
    Steve is singing from "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," a song popularized by the Disney feature The Lion King.

  • Steve: Is it the story of "The Little Pig Who Cried Wolf?" This is a reference to the story called "The Boy Who Cried Wolf," an Aesop's Fable about a boy who repeatedly cried that a wolf was attacking his sheep, such that villagers no longer heeded his cry when a real wolf appeared.

  • Steve: "I'm All Shook Up / Hound Dog"
    When Steve skidoos into Blue's book, the rabbit tells him that he's the king in the story and Steve takes this to mean Elvis Presley, the King of Rock and Roll. During the segment, he references the Elvis songs "All Shook Up" and "Hound Dog," as well as Elvis's traditional "Elvis has left the building" line.

  • Steve: This is one of my favorite things.
    Steve references the lyrics of "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music when talking about the package he gets from Mailbox. Raindrops on roses And whiskers on kittens Bright copper kettles And warm woolen mittens Brown paper packages tied up with strings These are a few of my favorite things

  • Dreamcatchers are an ancient Native American custom featured in the Mailtime Segment in this episode.

  • Steve: I got to be a clue once... This is a reference to the episode "Magenta Comes Over" in which Steve got to be the first clue.

  • Steve: The clue, my friends, is blowing in the-- (wind blows his hair) -- wind.

    This is a reference to the 1963 Bob Dylan song Blowin' in the Wind, which has the line, "The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind"
