  • Trivia & Quotes
  • Quotes (3)

    • Kip: This is our last resort Henry, I wanted to take that last apartment we looked at. Henry: It was six hundred dollars, it smelled and it had rats! Kip: Those were not rats, they were incredibly unattractive kittens.

    • Henry: What about that mustache I wanted to grow? Kip: Grow it. It'll give you a nice ethnic look.

    • Kip: Henry, all my life I have been an emotional cripple. But now, suddenly, Hallejulah I am a-healed. Henry: (slaps Kip on the head in faith-healer fashion) Well praise the Lord!

    Notes (3)

    • The Susan B. Anthony Hotel is a fictitious hotel but is based on the Susan B. Anthony House in NYC. Susan B. Anthony was an early leader in the women's rights movement.

    • The original theme song for the show was a fairly faithful cover version of Billy Joel's "My Life". Some later syndicated airings substituted "Shake Me Loose", a vocal version of the show's end theme.

    • This pilot episode was shot on film. All other episodes were shot on video tape.

    Trivia (1)

    • The main characters are named after two bars in Berkeley, CA: "Kips's" and "Henry's."

    Allusions (3)

    • Henry changes into his men's clothes and still has his earrings on. Joe does the same thing in Some Like It Hot.

    • Donna Dixon's character is like Marilyn Monroe's character in Some Like It Hot.

    • The whole premise of the episode is based on the Marilyn Monroe classic comedy Some Like It Hot, from the guys dressing up as women to the little alcohol party with all the girls running in. It's all very similar.
