    Notes (44)

    • While this series took place at Sage Walk Wilderness School, ABC Family also aired a simular show about teens from Brittain who went to Redcliff Ascent in Utah.

    • Camper introduction: Heather. although her birth mother found herself in a drug-induced coma Heather pays no attention that the same thing could happen to her, Although she use to be an athlete and very innocent she started to hang out with the wrong crowd which could have changed her life forever. Now being very rebellious she messes around with all different types of drugs and runs away from the house for days at a time. She is also adopted and that might be another reason why she is very rebellious.

    • Camper introduction: Shawn. Admitting to stealing from his own mother, struggling with drug abuse for many years and being constantly taunted in school is not an example of a child who is under control of his life. His parents think that this was triggered from him being adopted and they wanted him to go to Sagewalk because they want him to be able to face his abandonment problems and they just want him to be happy and again some self-esteem.

    • Camper introduction: Nick. Being dyslexic always has a toll on nick in many ways. Yelling at his mother and disrespecting his father is almost ritual for nick, he fights with his whole family as well. He isn't violent just with words though, he once put a knife to his twin brothers neck. His parents could not deal with this behavior any longer so they decided to send him to Sagewalk so he can clean up his act.

    • Camper introduction: Jada. Not only does she refuse to go to school but she has dropped out of two boarding schools and nine private schools, and this was only in a time period of six years. Parties and experimenting with sex are some major problems with Joda because no schooling and experimenting with sex is not a good thing ever. Joda uses excuses such as she is going to be a famous singer so she doesn't need school. She always knows how to get out of trouble because Joda is what you could say a "good liar" she uses compulsive lying to get what she wants, when she wants it. Her parents want her to go to Sagewalk so she can make a solid foundation and will be able to live a more healthy life.

    • Camper introduction: Lauren. As a parent passed away Lauren no longer could get those straight A's or be as good of a student as she once was. She did not know how to deal with all the pain and anxiety that she was feeling, the only way that she thought that she could cope with her pain was with drugs. She turned into smoking pot every day and she stopped at nothing to get that daily fix. Her mother then decided that she was out of control and sent her to Sagewalk so she would finally be able to realize drugs aren't how you cope with grief.

    • The students were blindfolded and put in a car in order to get the base camp. The camp guides say this is necessary so the students don't runaway and find their way back to main roads.

    • The students are expected to hike 100 miles before they leave SageWalk. In this episode they hiked 7 miles to a new camp and 7 miles back to the base camp.
