  • Trivia & Quotes
  • Quotes (3)

    • Sophie: We have so much to be thankful for. We were ten, now we’re nine, my daughter’s life is ruined, but let’s eat.

    • Willy: (slurping Sylvia’s dish) What is that again? Miriam: It’s baba ganoush. Why can’t you remember? Baba ganoush, baba ganoush, ba-ba ga-noush! Willy: That’s lovely, dear. Is that the dish or are you rehearsing a chant for your witch’s group?

    • Nathaniel: Aunt Sylvia’s really funny. She’s my favorite. Phyllis: We don’t have favorites, Nathaniel. We love all our relatives the same. Nathaniel: We do? Phyllis: Not really, but we pretend.

    Notes (2)

    • Baba Ganoush, the food Sylvia brings, is a paste made of roast or grilled eggplant and tahini, a paste made from sesame seeds. Traditionally, the eggplant is first roasted in an oven for approximately 45 minutes. The softened flesh is scooped out, squeezed to remove excess water, and is then pureed with the tahini.

    • First appearance of Aunt Sylvia and Uncle Willy in the series.
