  • Episode Description
  • Team Lightyear ends up crashing on the distant planet Roswell. Roswell is populated by the typical Roswell-crash "greys"; the plot is much like the whole Roswell-incident, but in reverse, due to Mira and Buzz being the humanoid "aliens", and the natives being what we would consider aliens (but w/ an odd "Andy Griffith/Mayberry RFD" flair); Booster and XR have to save Buzz and Mira from the local military authorities, aided by the local sheriff (who is very Andy Griffith-like), and his daughter Becky (...who becomes fast friends with Booster, and calls him by the pet name "Pickles"...).moreless

  • Quotes (2)

    • XR: Ohhhh. Here's a tip for a young fella like you: ease up on the scallions at lunch.

    • Becky: I'm gonna call you pickles.

    Notes (4)

    • The episode title appears to pay homage to the spoof science-fiction film, "Strange Invaders", released in 1983.

    • Debuts: Becky

    • Animation Production by: Sunwoo Animation Co, Inc

    • Introductory Odd Bit: Buzz strikes a disco pose

    Trivia (1)

    • Goof: When Buzz blasts through the fence, his laser is blue instead of red.

    Allusions (5)

    • "Oil Can... When XR wakes up in one of the Greys' labs, he says "Oil can." This is reference to the Tin Man's first words in the original "Wizard of Oz" film.

    • Booster is lured to a child's home with candy, the same way E.T. was lured to a child's home with candy.

    • Tour guide: "In three hours..." This might be a stretch. The tour guide says a star will blow up "in three hours", possibly a reference to Gilligan's Island.

    • Grey barber: Various After Buzz and the crew are taken by the authorities, we see two Greys having a conversation. One of them is the Grey version of Floyd the Barber from The Andy Griffith Show.

    • Planet Roswell is obviously a reference to Roswell, New Mexico which is the town where a flying saucer crashed in 1947.
