  • Caillou's Interview (Warm-up clip) Caillou is interviewed by Sarah, but the interview goes awry when Gilbert snatches Sarah's question list and the tape recorder ate the tape. Caillou's Holiday Movie/Caillou: Vive Le FĂȘtes!(Feature) Caillou is looking forward to Christmas, but it seems to be taking an especially long time to come. To help keep track of time, he's given a "12 Days of Christmas" calendar, with removable ornaments that each day reveal a Christmas tradition from somewhere around the world. He learns that Christmas is a time of giving and sharing and Rosie does too - although the way in which she shares is a big (and delightful) surprise to everyone. He also participates in a Christmas parade, a Christmas play and learns about Hanukkah from his friend Leo and his Mom.moreless

    • Mommy: Now I get it! Rosie wanted to give us presents we love! Rosie: Yeah! Caillou love Rexy!

    • Caillou: I'm going to leave something for Santa too, Daddy, but I'm not going to put in my shoes, okay?

    • Storyteller: Spending the afternoon with Grandma's friends was like having a whole bunch of Grandmas and Grandpas to play with.

    • Mommy: (singing) Lots of toys is what you like. What about giving? What about caring? What about sharing? Christmas is for everyone. Caillou: (singing) But, but, but, but, I, I, me, me, I, I, but, but, me, me, me.

    • Storyteller: Caillou liked learning new words and he liked how Merry Christmas sounded in Spanish. Feliz Navidad!

    Notes (19)

    • "Caillou's Holiday Movie" is not known to have ever aired on PBS in the United States, but has aired at least once on Teletoon in Canada.

    • The French-Canadian artist Marilou performs the song "Everyday" in both English and French. The movie has two official soundtracks (the former in English and the latter in French), although they are only available from Canadian merchants. The soundtrack includes expanded versions of many of the songs, including "Everyday." It also has many additional songs not featured in the film, such as "Riding in Santa's Sleigh," "We Wish You a Caillou Christmas" and "One Wish."

    • Daddy's watch is an hour behind, suggesting that perhaps it isn't actually broken. If he and the family live in an area that observes Daylight Savings Time, then it's possible he simply forgot to "Spring Forward." On the other hand, it would be a very long time for Daddy to never notice that his watch was running behind.

    • For those who have the DVD (United States release, possibly others), use the "Angle" button on your remote control(or if your DVD player uses a menu-based system, choosing a different angle from the angle menu) during the closing credits to alternate between credits for three different languages. Note that this only changes the credits, not the audiotrack (Editor's note: This also works for the short opening title sequence). Also, if you use the "Language" button on your remote control (or if your DVD player use a menu-based system, changing the language in the Soundtrack menu) while the movie is playing, you can change the language selection of the movie on-the-fly.

    • For a family with two kids, the refrigerator in the kitchen of Caillou's house is rather bare. There's only what appears to be heart-shaped card on it, but one would expect it to be covered with drawings and other assorted items.

    Trivia (3)

    • The star that Caillou creates for his Christmas tree alternates between one that looks perfectly cut and has perfect symmetry and a somewhat sloppy one that looks like it was cut out by, well, a kid.

    • Close-captioning spells the name of one of the horses on which Caillou rides at the Christmas tree farm as both "Blackie" and "Blacky."

    • Sarah's school Christmas play is extremely short, about two minutes long at best.
