  • show Description
  • Casey Jones chronicles the adventures of John Luther 'Casey' Jones, the engineer on the "Cannonball Express" during the 1890s.Casey Jones was very loosely based upon the real locomotive engineer by the same name, who died on a foggy and rainy night when his train slammed into a stalled freight train. A popular song made him a legend, immortalizing his heroic efforts to stop his train and save lives.Casey Jones starred Alan Hale, Jr. almost a decade before his most famous role as the Skipper on Gilligan's Island. Bobby Clark was Casey Jones, Jr. while Dub Taylor played Wallie Sims and Eddy Waller was Red Rock Smith. Also featured was Mary Lawrence (aka Mary Laurence) as Casey's wife Alice.moreless

Wallie Sims: Fine? This boiler feels like it's fixin' to jump the tracks!
Casey Jones: Wouldn't dare. Carter wouldn't stand for it, would he, Sam?
Sam Peachpit: Nooo. Carter, big chief this railroad. Short temper.

    • Capt. Young: (referring to Casey Jr.) Corporal, I want you to give this young man a full tour of the post.
Red Rock: I ought to go along with him. He's just a little fella you know.
Capt. Young: I was just about to suggest that. This youngster too, corporal.
