    • Martha: This is... the best thing that has ever happened to you. Rejection is the bedrock of a great acting career. Until an actor has suffered, he hasn't really lived. Alexis: Thanks, gram. Martha: You're welcome. And besides, auditions are like men. There's another one right around the corner.

    • Castle: I think you're a really good influence on Alexis. Martha: What's with you, kiddo? Fever, delirium?

    Trivia (1)

    • Goof: When Beckett goes down the stairs to what they thought was a dead Police Officer, she commits a quick round robin of goofs. First she didn't notice that either the dead "Cop" was wearing a Sergeant's shield or the dead Sgt. was wearing a Cop's uniform. Upon a closer look at the "badge" she states, "It's from the 116 in Queens, this is an old style badge though." In the NYPD, you cannot tell where an Officer works by his "shield", all of equal rank are identical. Next, no member of the NYPD ever calls it a "badge", it is referred to as the "shield". Same applies to her comment that it was an "old style badge". The NYPD has not changed shield designs for at least 75 years, also probably much longer.

    Allusions (1)

    • In the scene where Beckett and Castle are questioning Bella Lombardo, she mentions: "My girlfriend Sammi, her boyfriend Ronnie and his cousin Pauly". This is a reference to the TV show Jersey Shore on MTV and to three of its characters with the same names. Also, Bella Lombardo seems to be a caricature of the characters on Jersey Shore. She looks and talks like them, as well as lives in Jersey.
