    • Castle: I'd like a minute with him. (Beckett leaves the room)
Douglas Stevens: (Castle closes and locks the door) I just said I don't wanna talk, so you can't question me. I have rights. I'm not going to say anything without a lawyer.
      Castle: I'm not a cop.
Douglas Stevens: Then who are you?
Castle: You remember the girl with the red hair? I'm her father. Please know, I will do whatever it takes to get her back. The police outside are my friends. My daughter's friends too. So it's just you and me.
Douglas Stevens: If you touch me I'll press charges.
Castle: I don't care. Where are they?
      Douglas Stevens: I'm just a driver. I, I don't know anything.
Castle: You know Henson ditched the van for the black Yukon. So where did he go? Where did he take the girls? I won't ask you again, where did he take the girls?
Douglas Stevens: (Beckett stands outside listening to screams) Aah! Stop! Aah! Aah!

    • Martha: Oh, she was the center of our lives for so long, and now she's just... gone?
Castle: Right now is just Alexis' time to make her own way in the world. But she'll be back. Like Simba in The Lion King, it's the circle of life.

    • Castle: (To Beckett) You know, I still remember when Alexis was born, they handed me this tiny person, all bundled up. She just stared up at me. And when I looked down at her, this feeling hit me, like I'd been struck by lightning. It was love. That instant, inexplicable love you can only feel for your child. In that moment, I knew. I knew my life had changed forever. And now it's about to change again.

    • Beckett: (after Castle tortures him) Tell me what happened with Douglas Stevens.
Castle: I appealed to his humanity.
Beckett: I didn't think you had that side to you.
Castle: When it comes to the people I love, I do.

    • Beckett: Castle, listen to me--
Castle: Don't. Don't promise me you'll find her unless you can do it, because ... I would never forgive you. Anymore than I'd ever forgive myself.

This episode was great, one of the best! I can't wait for the next one!

I felt it was a strong episode. "Castle" is always at it's best when it's at one of the two extremes it frequents: urgent, intense drama or comedic malarkey. This episode is obviously the former and I got super excited when Castle is left alone with the driver. I find that the strongest elements of this show is the characters, the cinematography, and the deep connection we have with Kate and Richard. Nathan Fillion, in my opinion, has always been a strong "eye actor" and his ability to convey the weight of his emotions is enthralling.

I found myself laughing at the end...when Alexis gets TAKEN to Paris. Really hope the next episode starts off with them finding the Skype phone and Castle going "If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you."

that was the best Castle episode so far. that was almost 24-ish.

CrazyAsian is entitled to his opinion, but clearly more stupid than dirt. That kid is cute and adds a lot to the show.

No, she added a lot to the show in the first few seasons when she was a foil to Castle's child like nature and to showcase what a good father Castle was. Then they did the whole Ash (who I hated so much) story arc and had Alexis deal with rejection and feeling lost last season. Now really think about it, what has she done this season? She has gotten almost no air time and you can tell some of those scenes with her were kind of forced just so she would have air time. I mean she was even barely in the episode where she had mono and actually at the apartment (yes I realize mono makes you really tired and it wouldn't be realistic for her to be up and about, and yes, I realize the episode was more about Becket and ex-Wife than Alexis, but still). Don't get me wrong. I <3 Molly C. Quinn. I think she is amazing and the fact she's a bit nerdy just makes her even more awesome, but from a producers point of view why would you keep a character in the main credits and pay them a staring role when you don't use them? Also, don't think I want them to actually kill Alexis, that would be terrible. I was just saying it would solve two problems since the plot of the episode is designed to allow for that possibility.

I don't think that would work, particularly because it would destroy Castle's character. I just don't think the kind of character development that would logically occur with that kind of a storyline would be acceptable to Castle fans. We don't want to see him like that.

    • CrazyAsian1080 Feb 22, 2013

It's not like Castle hasn't killed off a main character before. But, yes I agree Castle fans would probably protest to the killing of Alexis. NOT because Molly C. Quinn is cute, but because it would take the show into a really dark direction. Much darker than when they killed off Montgomery.

However, I think it's completely in Castle's character to do whatever it takes to get Alexis back, like when he "appealed" to the injured kidnapper's sense of humanity. Castle's "darker" side has been pointed at a few times actually. Special Agent Jordan Shaw brought up how he kills people in his books and his profile is surprisingly close to a serial killer's. 3XK asks Castle why he has such a morbid interest with death. Now Im not saying Castle will go "all Liam Neeson" but we get hints at the fact he hires people to.

Now Im sure he will step back from the brink before going completely dark side, but Im sure he will teeter on the edge for a bit.

I completely agree with you there - it's totally believable that Castle would go 'to the dark side' so to speak. I was unsurprised at the insinuated torture and fully expect him to do whatever he needs to to get his daughter back. I just think that the after-effects of her death might be too much for Castle fans - just like you said, it would take the show in too dark a direction. I wonder if Castle's 'dark side' will ultimately destroy his relationship with Beckett, though... It's a possibility, and something (unfortunately) is sure to happen to split them up at least temporarily. Unless for once a tv series decides to be original and NOT follow that cliched line (here's hoping).
