  • Quotes (4)

    • Carla: Nick, even if I wanted to give you those kids they wouldn't want to go with you. The young ones don't know who ya are. The old ones hate your guts.

    • Nick: I need a simple favor. Carla: Unless it's setting your eyebrows on fire, forget it.

    • Carla: Nick, what the hell do you want? Nick: Hey, is that the kind of hello I deserve? Carla: No, bend over and I'll give it to you.

    • [Carla has given Anthony to Nick.] Carla: What are you all looking at? Haven't you ever seen a jellyfish before?

    Notes (5)

    • This episode was filmed on July 27, 1984.

    • Sam later says his career was five years, so he pitched from 1971-1975, two of them pre-DH.

    • Since the DH rule was created until 1973 it's entirely possible that Sam had could have have batting stats with the sox.

    • I have an interesting comment. In this episode Norm and Cliffy bet on what Sammy's lifetime batting average was. They even look it up in a book. And we all know that pitchers don't hit in the American League, so Aam must have pitched for a National League team before the Red Sox but it was never mentioned.

    • It is also possible that Sam batted in the minor leagues. In an ep. with Dick Cavett, Sam joked that he didn't remember 1974 or 1975 due to his drinking during his career. With that line, he may very well have played prior to 1973.

    Trivia (1)

    • I noticed that while watching this episode in syndication, in the part towards the end when Carla goes into Sam's office with Nick, right before they go in Carla says "I got a new rule... no touching." But on the DVD set you don't hear that line, it seems like Carla wasn't even moving her mouth so maybe it wasn't supposed to even be in the final cut and was just dubbed in on occasion in syndication. Has anyone else ever noticed this or am I just crazy?
