  • Quotes (5)

    • Sam: When you try to be a fun loving drunk you sure find out who your friends are.

    • Sam: I didn't start drinking when she left, I was celebrating. Celebrating the day I got rid of you. You hear that everybody. Everyone: Celebrating. Diane: Well let me tell you something, Sam. I have two birthdays now. One to make the occasion when my mother bore me and one to commemorate my glorious rebirth when I walked out of here. Sam: Just one more time you did not walk out of here. I kicked you out and I would do it again except that no man deserves that much pleasure in one life.

    • Coach: What will it be, Normy? Norm: A transfusion with a head on it.

    • Coach: Beer, Normy? Norm: You know how to make it sound tempting, you fast talker.

    • Sam: Step right this way ladies, it's time for the halftime show at the SammyDome!

    Notes (6)

    • This episode was filmed on July 24, 1984.

    • You may notice that Diane starts spending a lot of time behind tables and the bar disk in this season, this is to hide the fact that Shelley Long was pregnant.

    • This episode takes place six months after the events of the Season 2 finale. After Sam and Diane broke up, Diane had a nervous breakdown and spent the whole time at a sanatorium, while Sam returned to a life of drunken debauchery.

    • Like John Ratzenberger, Grammer was also only supposed to appear in seven episodes. Like Ratzenberger, he'd, too, become a regular cast member.

    • Kelsey Grammer makes his first appearance as Frasier Crane - a role he would end up playing for 20 years.
