  • A wrap up of the finale from last season. Not a great episode but needed none the less.

    • Troy: I'm just sharing what you say. Pierce: Yeah? Well, what if I share all the stuff you say? He thinks all dogs are boys and all cats are girls. Troy: There's no way to disprove that. Have you ever seen a cat penis?

    Allusions (5)

    • Friends
Abed describes Britta as 'the Aniston', a reference to Friends star Jennifer Aniston, whose character 'Rachel' has a similar on-off, will they-won't they relationship with Ross on the television series

    • The clip from 15:29-15:36 where the camera is primarily focused on Jeff's bloody face is an allusion to the "Pilot" of Lost where they had the exact same camera view on Jack Shephard and it also includes a similar sound before going to a commercial break like the one that Lost used.

    • At the beginning of the episode, Troy gets out of bed in a pair of Spiderman pajamas. This is referencing an online campaign based on Donald Glover's desire to play Spiderman in the re-boot of the series, which caused a controversy due to his race.

    • Troy's Old White Man Says Twitter feed is an allusion to Sh*t My Dad Says, a Twitter feed consisting of comments by 74 year-old Sam Halpern, written by his son Justin. Pierce's suggestion that they cash in on it refers to the $#*! My Dad Says TV show on CBS, based on the Twitter feed, which first aired the same night as this episode.

    • Chang's last scene is inspired from Gollum's split personality fight on The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. Sméagol still remembers values like friendship and love, making it the good personality, while Gollum only knows hate, treachery and violence.
