  • Some kids decide to make their own kinds of "jackass" videos. One dies from a gunshot wound. A man dies at a movie theatre. (thats pretty much as simple as it gets)

  • Trivia & Quotes
  • Quotes (8)

    • Catherine: And nobody saw anything? Grissom: They were watching the movie. Dark room. Loud music. Four exits. Everybody looking the other way. Catherine: Professional killer? Grissom: Or a movie buff.

    • Warrick: Venus and Serena. Perfect Match.

    • (After she went to go get popcorn during an old noir movie) Catherine: Hi, what'd I miss? Grissom: Murder, seduction, deceit. The usual. Catherine: Mmm. This one of your favorites? Grissom: Actually, I'm not a big fan of noir. Catherine: Okay...Well, what do you like? Grissom: I like silent movies. (Catherine stops and turns to look at Grissom. With a small smile on his face, Grissom glances at Catherine, then turns to look at the screen)

    • (To Grissom and Doc Robbins who are discussing movies) Catherine: Mr Siskel. Mr Ebert. May I have a cause of death?

    • (Arriving at the crimescene) Catherine: Ooh. Theatres are like night clubs... you should always keep the lights off. Grissom: This is the last art house left in Vegas. I saw Baraka here, on a double bill with Koyaanisqatsi. Catherine: Was there anyone else here? Grissom: Sure. Catherine: With you? Grissom: No.

    • Music: Ian Brown - F.E.A.R End Theme - Zero 7

    Trivia (3)

    • Goof: When Brass and the others go to the house of the woman who was hanged, they hear an "off the hook" signal from inside the house, alerting them that something is wrong. Unfortunately, every phone system that I have ever used plays this signal for only two to three minutes before lapsing into silence. Since the woman had been dead longer than that, it is unlikely the signal would still be sounding. However, it did provide a reason for them to enter the house.

    • Goof: During the flashbacks of the shooting in the shed we see the video camera lens being shot out before the boy is shot. The monitor in the lab showing the video tape made at the scene, however, shows the boy lying on the ground when the camera has already been destroyed.

    • At the beginning of the episode, we see the people watching the film. From the back, two of the heads look like Grissom and Catherine.

    Allusions (8)

    • Warrick: Venus and Serena. Perfect match. This alludes to the tennis players, and sisters Venus and Serena Williams. They both are ranked very high in the world as they have won many Grand Slam tournaments. They often face each other in these tournament finals.

    • This episode makes numerous references to the 1951 classic film Strangers on a Train such the name of Anthony Haines is a reference to the characters of Bruno Anthony and Guy Haines.

    • Title: A Night at the Movies The title of this episode is a reference to the 1937 short film of the same name starring Robert Benchley as a man who is trying to enjoy a movie with his wife, but faces some difficulties.

    • The older brother states his friends and little brother are big fans of the "Don't try this at home shows." This may reference The MTV stunt series Jackass.

    • Catherine: Ooh. This is a repeat of a joke in "Pledging Mr. Johnson" where Catherine asks him the same thing, different venue.
