    • (The victim has a stake embedded in his skull) Nick: Sharp force trauma?

    • Nick: There's a sucker born every minute. Grissom: Yep, and they all come to Vegas.

    • (In a mine) Grissom: Are you seeing this? Nick: Gold. We're rich. Grissom: I'm not so sure.

    • Detective Cyrus: Death: the cheapest show in Vegas. Grissom: Yeah. It doesn't surprise me. Remember the MGM fire? We found people burned to their slot machines cause they wouldn't leave the action. Detective Cyrus: Only in Vegas.

    • Nick: Feces? Grissom: Yep. Nick: Under the fingernail? Grissom: Yep. (Nick looks up with pained expression) Nick: He wiped his own ass? Grissom (laughs): No, Nick, it's not human. It's scat. Could be from a bat. Nick: Bat scat. Grissom: Bat 'guano'.

    Allusions (1)

    • Warrick: I don't think I can handle another dead kid right now. This refers to the events of the earlier season episode "Random Acts of Violence" where a friend of Warrick's has his eight-year-old daughter killed in a drive-by shooting.
