Allusions (2)

  • Title:
Referencing L. Frank Baum's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (1900) and subsequent movie adaptation in 1939. Dorothy travels to the city of Oz to obtain a way back to Kansas from the Wizard. Accompanying her are the Cowardly Lion (seeking courage), the Scarecrow (seeking brains) and the Tin Man (seeking a heart). The primary refrain from the movie is "We're off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz."

  • Roger: With this great fame comes great responsibility. I'm paraphrasing, of course.
Referencing the line commonly attributed to the comic book character Spider-Man, created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. The line, as first used in Amazing Fantasy #15, is actually "With great power there must also come great responsibility."
