  • Quotes (3)

    • Ray: Wanda and Mary Lou—wonder how them broads get that way sometimes. J.R.: Just like us, looking for a good time. They found it.

    • Miss Ellie: J.R. is as stubborn as Jock. He doesn't like change, that's all. Especially when the change is named Barnes.

    • Payton: Did pretty good for yourself. Pamela: I think I did. Payton: So you was one of us? Pamela: I still am.

    Notes (2)

    • Due to censoring concerns, this episode was not initially broadcast in Germany and German-speaking countries. DVD releases to these areas include this episode as part of their bonus material.

    • The "Southfork" used in this episode, and all of the episodes in the Mini-series, is not the Dallas ranched used for the rest of the season. Though no explanation was given, the house changed dramatically with the beginning of the first season.

    Trivia (3)

    • Sue-Ellen apparently won the Miss Texas contest by singing "People", the famous song written by Jule Styne and Bob Merrill for the musical Funny Girl. In this episode she is forced to sing it again.

    • In this episode snow appeared at Southfork for the second and last time in show history. (The first time was in "Lessons" in which the characters actually walk through snowy pastures.) During the scene where Lucy, Ray and J.R. attempt to bring in the herd, and throughout the entire episode, Southfork is windy and snowy. The actors report the filming of the mini-series was miserable due to the cold and snow. During the rest of the series 13 season run, Southfork remained sunny, with the occasional rain storm, no snow, or winter was seen again.

    • When Luther and Allen decided to hold the ladies at Southfork hostage, they chained the front door. When Bobby and Jock arrived at Southfork, they entered through the back door. Bobby and Jock were able to disarm the men, and Jock ordered them to leave the property. When Luther and Allen walked up to the front door, it was no longer chained.
