Allusions (3)

  • "Light as a feather, stiff as a board." Reggie Lass is playing the game of party levitation. The game is supposedly as old as the 17th century. However, the scene with Reggie and her Goth friends playing the game is arguably a reference to the movie The Craft with Neve Campbell and Fairuza Balk where the goth girls are members of a witches coven who play the same game at a party.

  • George: They're dead, put 'em in a marble temple, stick 'em in a coffee can, it doesn't matter. This could be an allusion to the 1998 comedy The Big Lebowski in which a character dies and his friends cannot afford an urn, so they transport his remains in a coffee can.

  • George: Bueller? After calling out A. Simms' name a number of times and getting no response, George switches to (Ferris) Bueller. This recalls the famous attendance scene in the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off where the teacher played by Ben Stein repeatedly calls out the name "Bueller". He gets no response either.
