  • Episode Description
  • Suspected of secretly dealing with Krulos, Questar shocks his people by refusing to submit to Trial by the Path. He enters voluntary exile until he can clear his name and leaves Gunner, Mind-Zei, and Icon in command. But without a single leader to guide them, the Dino-Riders are helpless in the face of Krulos's most severe assault to date. The Rulons' victory looks assured once the Brontosaurus is brain boxed, yet the few Dino-Riders who manage to escape renew their hope of survival thanks to an unexpected source of help.moreless

  • Quotes (5)

    • Questar: I could finish you here - but I won't. Destroying a life is not our way.

    • Antor: It's going to blow. We have to get out of here, Lord Krulos! Krulos: Never! NEVER!! I must have MORE POWER!!! Antor: Find it yourself!!

    • Questar: I'm glad to see you slipped through the Rulon net, Gunner. Gunner: We didn't slip through it, Questar. We tore us a hole in it!!

    • Turret: Lemme go, you Rulon slime!!

    • Mind-Zei: The burdens of a leader are heavy indeed, but no one could carry them as well as you, Questar.

    Notes (4)

    • Lokus powers the cannon using a Rulon laser generator and the S.T.E.P. This probably explains why the Brontosaurus's lasers were green instead of red. Later on, Turret admits that the cannon almost destroyed the S.T.E.P. and receives an implied apology from Questar.

    • Icon calculates that the Dino-Riders have a three percent chance of survival without Questar's leadership.

    • Questar admits to Mind-Zei how difficult life has been since leaving Valoria, revealing a tired, troubled stress beneath his determined optimism.

    • This is the last episode to be aired on TV (quite the ending if the creators planned it this way).

    Trivia (4)

    • It looks like a small T-Rex is among the dinosaurs in the Dino-Riders' stalls. It was most likely a Deinonychus whose coloring was off.

    • Although Lokus was tied up by Kameelian during the escape, he's shown in the command center with Krulos when Rasp runs in a few moments later. Very odd, since he's the only one of his kind we've ever seen.

    • Lokus has a dramatically different voice in this episode. It went from being high and raspy to being low and resonant.

    • Tagg and Ayce are seen with Serena, Icon, and Vector hiding from the Rulons, but when they run out to jump on their mounts it's Turret who rides off with them. Tagg and Ayce are later seen among the prisoners at Dreadlock.
