      Gina: ...And we're gonna add in one teaspoon of baking powder -– better be a present around this house with something good in it -– and a half a teaspoon of baking soda…

    • (About the Neelys) Gina: They didn't all embrace me right away. I knew I had to come in, but I didn't want to just come in and be noted as Pat's wife. I wanted to come in and make a difference, earn my respect and show them what I had to bring to the table. And that's why I think they all love me and respect me now, because I threw balls down with them. I went toe-to-toe.

    • Pat: (applying dry rub to the ribs) We want to turn her over and we want to massage this into her, all right? Gina: Are we still talking about the meat? 'Cause I'm about to get on the table.

    • Gina: This strawberry shortcut cake is a recipe that my mother-in-law made for my husband all the time growing up. It took me two years and a Gucci purse to get it, but I got it!

    • Continuity: Gina says that they're using potatoes they've already baked, and that they've been cooling at room temperature. Almost immediately Pat says the potatoes are leftover from a steak and potatoes dinner he and Gina had the night before. It's impossible to tell whether this is an actual goof, or caused by splicing parts of the absent home fries dish preparation in with the pork croquette segment.

    • Pat and Gina talk about visiting a guy in Vermont and seeing his giant apple corer. This visit was part of their other Food Network show, Road Tasted with the Neelys, and referred to Bill Suhr from "Thanksgiving".

    • Some of tonight's pictures during the romance comment came from Pat and Gina's other Food Network series, Road Tasted with the Neelys.

    • Pat's reminisces about picking strawberries and strolling in flower gardens in San Diego, all activities that occurred in Road Tasted with the Neelys "San Diego: Sun-Sational"

  • I enjoy watching the Neely's and trying new recipes from them, I only hope Food Network will stop changing their time schedule.

  • The show is great! It has a twist of real down home cooking and family recipes all intertwined into one show. It also brings love and fun, to the kitchen. It is refreshing, to see a couple have fun cooking and to also put some pizzaz into it!!

  • Down Home With The Neelys combines good eating with family values. They only way you can top Pat and Gina for cuteness and genuine likability is to find you a kitten, y'all!
