  • show Description
  • Drew Carey hosts a very zany, "Whose Line"-esque comedy show. The catch? Everyone acts it out in front of a green screen. So, whereas regular improv uses imaginary plots and scenes, different animation studios all over the country fill in the background and, in some cases, the foreground, with the kind of images produced by our mind's eye. After being cancelled by WB, the show will begin airing on Comedy Central on Sept 26, 05 at 9pm EST.moreless

    • Drew: (in One-Syllable Words) Oh no, I've got the trots.

    • (in New Choice) Colin: Always make sure to remove your testicles before the match. Brad: I keep mine in a jar of Benzine Jr. in my locker.

    • Julie: (in Sentences) What happened to gay goats?

    • Chip: (in Freeze Tag) There's going to be a Dorf-off?

    • Colin: (in One Syllable Words, almost forgetting) Hi ho...horse!

    • Colin: Always remember to cut the cord. Jeff: New choice. Colin: Always remember, only you can prevent forest fires.

    • Colin: (in One-Syllable Words) Give me ten...twice!

    • Brad: (in New Choice) This is something I found in the backyard, and it looks pretty fresh.

    Notes (28)

    • Greg Proops, Brad Sherwood and Chip Esten were the three most recurring performers on "Whose Line?" but none of them appeared in a single episode together. Now all three appear on this show at the same time.

    • In Freeze Tag, it starts out with two, but on occasions, three or more wound up in a scene. In the times it was played in the UK version of Whose Line, and on the Improv All Stars pay-per-view, there were only two per bit.

    • "New Choice" is another version of the game "Quick Change" on Whose Line, except the person calling has to say "New Choice" instead of "Change."

    • First air date on Comedy Central - 11/14/05.

    • The animation of the Horse Race Track in "One Syllable Word" is directed and animated by Eric Goldberg, best known as the animator of The Genie in Aladdin and was co-director of Pocahontas and animation director of Looney Tunes: Back in Action.

    • "Sentences" is essentially "Whose Line" from WLiiA? except they use numerous sentences.

    • Jonathan Mangum, Sean Masterson, and Kathy Kinney do not appear in this episode.

    • First air date on Comedy Central - 11/22/05

    Trivia (13)

    • There is an obvious edit made to the game of Sentences. After Jeff reads the paper that says, "What's that in your pants?!" he crumples it and tosses it aside. Right after that, Greg's voice over delivering a command from an airfield, shown in the next scene, is heard. Watch Drew, though; as Greg is speaking, he throws aside a crumpled piece of paper. Drew must have delivered a line here that was edited out.

    • In "Sentences", although the animators gave Drew a hat, they forgot to give Drew earrings. (Notice at one point Drew pretends to be taking earings off, but there's nothing on his ears. Plus, they added in sound effects for the motions, too.). Also, at one point, Drew pretends to take a drink. They added in sound effects of liquid pouring, but, the animators did not put a glass in his hand.

    • WLIIA? was knwon for being shown not just out of production oreder but totally out of season as well, but at least all the games came from the same taping. In this episode you can tell that the various games are from different tapings as they have multiple change of clothes. This happens a few more times on this series.

    • In "Sound Effects", when the igloo appears, Jeff crawls though the opening, and then they show the interior, and Colin enters the igloo through a door and says "There was a door right there." However, the opening that Jeff went through can't bee see at all!

    • In the 'Hollywood Moment' sketch, the animation on the scythe that Brad as the Grim Reaper is holding doesn't really match alot of the hand movements made.

    • Jonathan Mangum is actually in the episode, but it was poorly edited, and appeared only in the first skit.

    • In Game Show, Colin's showgirl name is Debbie and Jonathan's showgirl name is Tina. What's interesting is that Colin's wife's name is Debra McGrath.

    • Sean says that he wants to go against the wolverines and the badgers with hammers. However, Greg tells "Debbie" and "Tina" to release only the wolverines.

    Allusions (3)

    • ALL:
When the crew was singing the song to the made-up fable of "Onion Sam", their heads appeared (at the bottom of the tv screen) to look just like it was a Apple Macintosh (Mac OS X) toolbar.

    • Greg: Quelle dommage! When Greg states this French phrase, a duck on a string with the sign "Dommage" under it comes down. This is a reference to Groucho Marx's game show "You Bet Your Life."

    • The ditty that Greg hums while he's pounding on his hammer and things are falling from the sky is "The Anvil Chorus" by Verdi.
