    • Rhonda: Adam was traumatized by his experience, and has been unable to find work in the legal profession. Kim: Seems to me your client is lying his ass off, which makes him perfect for the legal profession.

    • Curtis: Your honor, Ms. Ford is here to testify, not to eat a snack. Jane: The issue isn't that she won't eat it. The issue is that she can't. Curtis: Your honor, counsel is giving a new meaning to the word 'stunt'. Jane: Like putting me on the stand didn't do that already? Pot, meeet kettle.

    • Terri: (to Jane) Hey, is it ok if I leave early tonight? Grayson asked me to try and find someone with something nice to say about Kim and it is a long drive to hell.

    • Stacy: She also told me that "res ipsa loquitur" is a legal term. But doesn't it also sound like a large dinosaur?

    • Teri: Excuse me Mr. Parker, there's a guy in the lobby waiting for you. He's got broad shoulders and no wedding ring so if he asks about me, I'm single with a cheery disposition.

    • Jane: Madeline, I know that a function like this can seem overwhelming. Madeline: Yes, I'd rather have root canal. Stacy: Aha, then you are in luck. The guy in the blue blazer, I saw him sign "oral surgeon". Yet crooked teeth. Go figure.

    • Jane: I think I'm in trouble. Teri said she sounded annoyed. Stacy: Oh come on, she's just a judge what can she do to you? Jane: She puts people in jail, Stacy. Stacy: Then why do you keep blowing her off?

    • (after a scene with Tony in a restaurant) Jane: How big a disaster, tell me the truth. Stacy: You remember when you died in that car accident? Jane: Yeah. Stacy: This is close.

    Trivia (8)

    • According to the database at the "pearly gates" Deb goes to after she dies, Deb was born on December 20, 1986 in Encino, CA. She had one younger sister and a family dog named Bones.

    • Jane had a dog named Bones.

    • Goof: According to Deb's obituary in the episode "Do Over", Deb was 23--not 24--when she died.

    • This episode is a hit at Abecrombie and Fitch's unauthorized regulations to sell small sizes and only hire 'cool, good looking people.' That store was sued and is still sued in the current news. Jane's case against PDQ is all about a store not carrying the larger sizes and telling women how they should look. The story is completely parallel to what happened in Drop Dead Diva.

    • One of the episode's subplots deals with Lina, a model who's contract was broken after it was revealed that she had breast cancer. October, the month in which this episode aired, is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

    • After Fred gets his commercial offer, he attempts to relax his vocal chords by having lemon and honey along with only whispering. He claimed he read all this in the book Stacy got him. Sadly, this is a continuity error because in reality, he is doing more harm than good by whispering. Whispering strains the vocal chords.

    • One of the two cases in this episode is about two teenage girls who are suing their high school for not allowing them to attend prom together as a couple.

Ironically, the episode features two openly gay actresses guest-starring as judges: Married... with Children's Amanda Bearse and comedienne Wanda Skyes of The New Adventures of Old Christine.

    • If you listen very carefully to the opening theme song, you could hear that Brooke Elliott (Jane) was recording a new part for the new guardian angel "Luke", and that it was implented there (it's not a part of the original recording).

    • Episode Title This is a clear reference to the 1995 movie Dead Man Walking, starring Susan Sarandon and Sean Penn.

    • During a discussion with Stacy, Jane alludes to Freud's The Interpretations of Dreams when she says that according to Freud, "dreams are our desires stored in the unconscious."

    • The episode title is an allusion to Grey's Anatomy which takes place in Seattle Grace Hospital.

    • Hank and Stacy: I know you are but what am I? Hank and Stacy recreate a scene from the 1985 movie Pee Wee's Big Adventure.

    • Ellie: Jane, I never care what people think about me. Let people call me mean, or dragon lady, or... Jane: Cru-Ellie De Vil? Cruella De Vil is the two-toned hair villianess from the 1961 Disney movie 101 Dalmations, which was made into a live-action movie in 1996 starring Glenn Close.

    • Episode Title: This is a reference to the NBC series Will & Grace, about a straight woman and her best friend, a gay man.
