    • Roy: Dr. Frick, that was a very fine job of vascular surgery you performed in there. Dr. Frick: Hey, thank you, Roy. Johnny: It sure was, but you know what blows my mind? Dr. Frick: Uh, no, what's that? Johnny: Well, you actually. You see, you have to remember, I expect to see "Ol' Doc Frick." You know, the kindly, white-haired, lovable, old country doctor, but... Roy: Yeah, well, whatever prompted you to set up practice in a place like this, anyway? Dr. Frick: Well,it's just that there isn't another doctorinthe whole area. People need me here. That's what I really want, a practice where I'm really needed, you know. Johnny: Can you imagine their reaction to all this back at the station?

    • Roy: Hi, Dix. Dixie: Hi, you guys here to see our star patient? Roy: Yeah, how's he doing. Dixie: Well, he's getting his strength back. We'll have to release him pretty soon or tie him down. Chet: You know I had a lousy feeling yesterday he wasn't going to make it. Dixie: You were really concerned. Roy: Well, you'd better not tell John that, it's gonna ruin their relationship. Chet: What relationship, I just didn't wanna have to break in a new pigeon. Roy: Now, see what I mean.

    • Johnny: (to the reluctant nurse) Ma'am, these people are going to die if we don't get some help in here. Now I want an outside line, now. Please!

    • Roy: It's quiet around the station. Johnny: The only way you'll get peace and quiet around the station is if Chet gets terminal laryngitis.

    • The funeral home hearse doubles as an ambulance. This was a common practice in rural areas until the late 1970.

    • The helicopter water drop should have produced mud around the car. Helicopters carry about 300 gallons of water. The ground was completely dry.

    • Code I (fireman injured) count 1. Johnny Gage--Rattlesnake bite

    • Blooper: When the rattlesnake bites Johnny, he drops the handietalkie and it falls off the far side of the car. Yet as he falls to the ground, he has the handietalkie back in his hand again.

    • Chet's Disappearing Helmet When the are loading Johnny onto the hose bed after the rattlesnake bites him, Chet has his helmet on. After a close up of Johnny talking into the handie talkie, we see Chet putting a torniquent on Johnny's leg, but Chet's helmet is no longer on his head. As the engine begins to back up, we see Chet still treatibng Johnny, and his helmet is back on his head.
