  • show Description
  • In this series, E! lists 101 of the most significant moments in certain aspects of entertainment, from celebrity couplings to major public gaffes. Actors, comedians and "experts" from the field of entertainment provide commentary throughout each countdown. Each countdown takes place over the course of five nights. The show runs as occasional specials and is rerun ad nauseum by E!

    • Narrator: "Barbie also became multi-racial, something only Michael Jackson has been able to do in the real world."

    • Kimberley Locke: "The relationship between Simon and Paula...It would not be the same if Paula was not there. Because sometimes to see her and Simon interact, it just makes the show."

    Notes (8)

    • Since its original airing, the Biggest Celebrity Oops of all time has changed. Britney Spears' Vegas wedding (which was annulled after 55 hours) has replaced "Gigli" as the #1 Oops!

    • Throughout all of his interview segments, Dave Navarro wears a T-shirt that features a photo of Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake just after Jackson's infamous "wardrobe malfunction" during the halftime show of Super Bowl XXXVIII.

    • Originally scheduled to begin January 11, 2004, this countdown had to be shelved when NBC filed a lawsuit against E! They claimed that E!'s contract to carry shortened repeats of Saturday Night Live did not allow them to air compilations of this type, as it would hinder NBC's ability to air its own clip shows. E! claimed that it was allowable under the contract as a "promotional stunt" to attract viewers to the repeats. As a result, E! was also unable to air the SNL repeats for seven months (after winning the exclusive rights, which had previously been held by Comedy Central for years without incident).

    • Scheduled to air January 12, 2004.

    Trivia (17)

    • Zsa Zsa Gabor's license and registration had expired when she was pulled over by a motorcycle police. She drove away and got pulled over again, that's when the cop got slapped in the face. For this she was sentenced to 72 hours in jail and 121 hours of community service besides the $13 000 in court costs.

    • Julie Cypher gave birth to a girl, Bailey, in 1997 and in 1998 a son, Beckett. They revealed who the father was in 2000 after thinking that would be best for the children.

    • The news on George Michael getting arrested came out on April 7th 1998.

    • Queen Latifah is mentioned among those who had a failed talk show. Although it wasn't a huge hit, unlike the other shows mentioned (The Tempestt Bledsoe Show, etc.), The Queen Latifah Show lasted two full seasons.

    • Jon Hein says that the turning point for Melrose Place was when Kimberly blew up the building "and then died." She didn't die until almost two full seasons later.

    • Baywatch wasn't the only "Oops" NBC had done. In the mid-90s, NBC had a series called JAG. JAG didn't do well in the ratings, and like Baywatch before it, NBC canceled it after one season. However, CBS picked up the series and it had high ratings to last nine more seasons. JAG also spun-off NCIS and NCIS spun off NCIS: LOS ANGELES.

    • During the segment about David Caruso, it is stated that he failed in his film career, and eventually decided to return to television and found success with CSI: Miami. They fail to mention that he actually had his own series in the interim, Michael Hayes, but it was quickly cancelled.

    • Farrah Fawcett left Charlie's Angels after the first season, not the second.
